The going report for the Curragh this morning has eased slightly to good on both tracks following watering overnight, and an eight-race card featuring the first classic of the season — the Tattersalls Irish 2,000 Guineas — gets underway at 1.20.
“We watered after racing last night and the ground on both tracks is now good," reports Clerk of the Course Brendan Sheridan this morning.
“Selective watering will continue this morning on the round course and there will be fresh ground on both tracks.
“We didn’t race on the round course yesterday and we have moved over the rail on the straight course seven yards.
“The forecast is to be dry with warm temperatures and we are in a good place.”
The going was good, good to firm in places, at the Curragh yesterday evening where all the racing took place on the straight course.
A total of 11 go to post in the Guineas with the second, third and fourth from Newmarket — Hi Royal Royal Scotsman and Galeron - renewing rivalry while the home team is led by Paddington and Proud And Regal
The €500,000 mile event is scheduled for 3.40.
