Griffin takes last
Eoin Griffin received some compensation this evening after his charge St Devote (2/5fav) took the concluding race on this evenings card, the Gosh Cosmetics Ladies Flat Race in the hands of Nina Carberry.
Winning trainer Griffin said afterwards: “I’m glad one of the horses got up this evening. He’s a nice horse and I hope he has a nice future. We will probably go for a maiden hurdle next with him.”
“This lad is owned by a syndicate which includes international football players John O’Shea and Stephen Hunt so I’m delighted he won for the lads.”
Griffin also said of Lucky Wish “We were worried about the ground but I just felt on paper he had so much in hand I thought he’d win and we were very disappointed.”
“Barry just said he hated the ground and he knew he was in trouble after the third hurdle.”
