Gray guides Inoma James to Thurles win

Thu 26th Nov 2009, 15:37

The Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Chase at Thurles today proved a slog, with victory in the end going to Inoma James which ran out the easy 22 lengths winner under capable claimer Steven Gray.

Afterwards winning Straffan based trainer Derek Barry stated “Ruby Walsh rode Inoma James at Punchestown the last day and told us he wanted three miles. Today's race was there to win and I fancied him big time!”

He added “hopefully now the handicapper doesn't destroy his mark and there's a similar race for him again here before Christmas.”
