Grandee landed a punt in the Curragh when hitting the line first in the mile and one juvenile maiden.
He was the most experienced horse in the 14-runner field with three runs under his belt (placed twice).
Shane Foley, who was bringing up a double on the card, raced him in rear of mid-division. The pair were on the heels of the leaders with a furlong and a half to travel before powering their way to the front with 200 yards to go.
The race was soon over as the 6/1 shot headed for home and won by a length and a quarter.
From a show of 12/1, he was backed down to 6/1 on the off. Dubai Sand (10/1) was the horse beaten into second. He was a length and quarter in front of Sir John Lavery (16/1).
"He had a bit of experience and did it well,” trainer Jessica Harrington said.
“He loved the trip and loved the ground. He probably doesn't want extremes of ground.
“He's a nice horse and will be a nice staying horse next year.
“His run in Gowran was a good run and his form was solid. The bit of experience stood to him.”
Shane Foley added: "I rode him here at the Curragh in a hot maiden and he really appreciated the step up to a mile and one and he saw it out well.
"When I went for him, in fairness he picked up. He'll be a lovely horse next year."
