Gopsies Daughter put a disappointing effort over six furlongs at Dundalk on Friday well behind her, as she just prevailed in the PG Duffy & Sons Citroen Handicap.

Placed on her two starts prior to Dundalk, the lightly-raced six-year-old daughter of Captain Rio was sent off at 16/1 today.

Settled in mid-division by Martin Dwyer, the Denis Hogan trained chestnut took closer order when ridden with under two furlongs to race.

She got to the front with 100 yards left to go, and just held off the late challenge of Palavicini Run by a nose.

The runner-up was returned at 20/1 under Donagh O'Connor for Johnny Levins, while the well-backed 9/2 favourite (10's last night and from 13/2 on-course), A Few Dollars More was another three parts of a length away in third, with Declan McDonogh in the saddle for Andy Slattery. Blairmayne (8/1) completed the placings another half a length back in fourth under Shane Foley for Natalia Lupini.

Martin Dwyer said afterwards: "I spoke to Denis before and he said she is better over five than six.

"He said that she's got one good run towards the end and to try and use it wisely."
