Joseph O'Brien's Goodie Two Shoes stamped her authority on the McEnery Cup Handicap as she made all over the extended mile and a-half.

She went off 6/5 favourite to account for her five rivals in a somewhat decimated field with four non runners.

Conor Stone-Walsh rode her to win her race coming to the final furlong, as it developed into a sprint, and his mount asserted in the final 150 yards to come in by a comfortable two and a-quarter lengths. Smooth Tom didn't run a bad race in second at 5/2 for the Slatterys.

Frank Berry, racing manager for owner JP McManus, said: “She was out of sorts for a while and it’s nice to see her back in good form. She did it nicely.

“I’d say she’ll mix it a bit between the Flat and maybe go hurdling again. She had a hard fall in Fairyhouse that set her back a bit.

“She seems to handle the good ground well. They didn’t go much of a gallop and she could boss it in front.”

This was Goodie Two Shoes' third career success having also delivered on debut in a fillies' maiden at Killarney last summer and in a Punchestown race in September.
