The season's leading apprentice Jamie Powell booted home his twentieth winner of the campaign on 16/5 favourite God Knows in the Children's Heartbeat Trust Handicap.

Owned, trained and bred on the Curragh by Dick Brabazon, the four-year-old tracked the leaders before being sent for home by Powell after rounding the elbow. She quickly settled matters and came home three and a-half lengths in front of Giselles Defence

After three placed efforts in maidens, it was a first win on start number seven for the daughter of the Choisir horse Divine Prophet.

There was no joy for Frankie Dettori on his second and final mount of the evening as Evening's Empire could manage only seventh.

Jamie Powell said: "Unlucky a few times up the Curragh, so I was confident coming her today and I'm glad she got the job done.

"He (Dick Brabazon, trainer) was (filling me with confidence today), we knew she would be bang there. I spoke to Mark Gallagher this morning as well and he thought she would take a bit of beating.

"Travelled around well and picked up off it, so hopefully she is going the right way."
