Gathering Power got off the mark at the perfect time as she landed a big pot when shedding her maiden tag in the Woodlands 100 Club 3yo Handicap.

Her trained Eddie Lynam saddled a one, two in the race with Boston Rocker (20/1)finishing second under Declan McDonogh.

The winning daughter of Kyllachy was waited with by her jockey Fergal Lynch, before improving to move into second a furlong out.

She hit the front inside the final furlong and staying on well to score by a length and a half. Scotland Forever kept on well to take third at 10/1 under Ronan Whelan for Pat Shanahan while Abstraction (20/1) and Bloom And Bloom (33/1) dead heated for fourth place. Roseraie who was 12/1 last night with Paddy Powers, was backed on track from 8/1 to 6/1 joint favourite at the off, but she could only manage seventh while the other joint favourite was the Eddie Lynam trained Yulong Baoju and he finished tenth under Fran Berry.

Fergal Lynch said afterwards: "She was probably unlucky in the Birdcatcher last year behind Snow Queen. We had a change of tactics today to give her a clean sweep at it.

"I thought I got there a bit too soon. The last thing I was told was not to get there too soon as she might pull up.

"She galloped all the way to the line and she was in off the right weight at eight stone eight."

Winning trainer Eddie Lynam is currently in Singapore with Balmont Mast, who runs in a Group 1 there on Sunday.

The winner is owned by Sabine Power, who also has Sole Power and Slade Power in training with Lynam.
