Ado McGuinness doubled up at Laytown when the Adam Caffrey-ridden Allo Arry got off the mark in The Pride Of Place Maiden over and extended seven furlongs.
The gambled on 3/1 shot (from 13/2) won a final furlong battle with even-money favourite Expound by a head. I Know I Can attracted support from 33/1 to 16/1 and finished third, some nine lengths adrift of the leaders.
The trainer said: "He was very good on him. He's difficult to train and just hard to ride out, but Adam has done a good job on him - he rides him out every day. Fair play to him, he knows him well.
"It was great for the owners, they kept persisting.
"I think he is well handicapped, he will win a handicap somewhere along the way.
"He'll be a nice Dundalk horse for the winter as well. A good fun horse."
Cian MacRedmond steered home Dream Today in the opener for McGuinness.
