Norman Lee would like nothing better than a winner at his local track, and it was no surprise that Ballybrit is very much on the agenda for Supreme Vic after she galloped to a convincing success in the AT The Races Handicap Hurdle at Gowran Park.
Adam O'Neill cut out a lot of the running on the nine-year-old daughter of Old Vic, and the 16/1 chance kept on well in the straight to beat No Kidding by nearly three lengths. Elis Gury was the real springer in the market, as big as 14/1 in early exchanges and further backed on track from 11/2 into 4/1, but Tony Martin's charge could find no extra approaching the last and was another length and a half back in third.
Gort-based Lee said, "She did it well and stole a bit of a march on them. She's a good mare and the next stop may be Ballybrit. I knew she was in good form and I was expecting a good run."
