Los Angeles stamina came to the fore when he made a winning debut for Aidan O'Brien in the juvenile maiden over nine furlongs in Tipperary.
The Camelot colt disputed third and approached the home straight in fourth. He made headway to close at the two pole and was soon sent after new leader, and market springer, Surfers Paradise
Seamie Heffernan drove Los Angeles into a narrow lead with 150 yards to travel and his mount really found in the closing stages to go on by a comfortable two and a-quarter lengths at 13/2.
Surfers Paradise (17/2 - 4/1) was booked for the runner-up berth, a couple of lengths in front of Marty The Party (66/1).
Stable representative Chris Armstrong said: "He is a lovely horse and will come on an awful lot. It was a lovely introduction to bring him here and will be a lovely middle-distance horse for next year.
"He'll improve a ton for the run and something like the Beresford or the 1m2f Criterium de Saint-Cloud could be next, but he is a horse to look forward to next year.
"Seamus gave him a lovely introduction and what he does at two will be a bonus. It's grand to get him out now and see where he fits into the pecking order."
Los Angeles holds a couple of Group 2 entries at Leopardstown and the Curragh in addition to a Group 2 option in the Royal Lodge at Newmarket.
Paddy Power gave the winner a first show of 33/1 for the Derby.
