J.P. McManus was responsible for the first post-lockdown jumps race winner, Filon D'Oudairies, at Limerick today, as jump racing's biggest owner bagged the opening Well Done To All Frontline Staff From Limerick Racecourse Maiden Hurdle (div 1).

Ridden by Mark Walsh, the Frenchbred was foot-perfect and fast in his jumping and made all for a two lengths win over 5/6 favourite Bentham

Winning trainer Joseph O'Brien was represented by Brendan Powell who later stated “he was fit and well and jumped beautifully. Mark (Walsh) said he was very slick over his hurdles.

“He can be keen and settled well in front today.

“He keeps himself well and doesn't take much to get him fit.

“We kept a certain amount of jumpers going during lockdown and they were ready to go and it's a nice way to start back.”
