Flaming Dawn runner-up on his last two starts, made no mistake today as he ran out an easy winner of the concluding bumper at Tramore.

Jane Mangan let her mount hit the front after half a mile and he proved much too strong for his rivals in the closing stages.

She asked Edward O'Grady's charge to go and win his race coming down the hill the final time and the 5/4 favourite soon pulled clear.

The Flemensfirth gelding galloped on strongly in the closing stages to score by 13-lengths from Phil The Flyer

“He's quite nice. There's no blame on his previous jockey, he's just a bit unfortunate he didn't win,” said O'Grady.

“Two runs ago I gave the wrong instructions and the last day he was hindered by an obstruction on the track. He hit the front and took his eye off it.

“He's 17 hands and from the same family as Dawn Run. He point-to-pointed as a four-year-old and he'll be a nice staying novice hurdler for the rest of the season. He'll make a nice chaser in time.”
