Fiery Oscar followed up on his recent course and distance success at his took the Clonmel Races Easter Egg Hunt Handicap Hurdle for the Salsify team of Rodger & Coleman Sweeney.

Paddy Powers went 7/4 about the winner this morning but he opened on track at 6/4 and was well supported, going off the short priced 11/10 favourite.

Cheaps As Chips attempted to make all under Andrew Ring for Philip Rothwell but he was passed turning for home by the winner and Pretty Happy

Both travelled well coming to the second last however Pretty Happy crashed out at that flight and left Fiery Oscar with a clear advantage.

He jumped the last safely and kept on well to score by an easy eight lengths. Faranadooney finished second for Shane Duffy at 11/1 while the Dessie Hughes trained Bright Light City was a further fifteen lengths back in third at 10/1.

The winning 8yo son of Oscar is now a three time course and distance winner, having also scored at the venue back in 2009.

Colman Sweeney said afterwards: "My father is gone to Dundalk, where our better chances are running (Khelino & Raydari .

"I didn’t think he’d win as easy but obviously the other horse falling made it easier.

"He’ll be kept going in these type of races. Dad doesn’t like travelling too far up the country with him but he might stretch as far as Thurles."
