Goodthynemilan was driven out by Davy Russell in the the rated chase to give Gordon Elliott a quick double at Thurles.

The 3/1 favourite closed on front-running Samson Bill on the approach to the second last of this extended two and a half mile contest.

Russell then sent her on after that fence as Samson Bill weakened.

The eight-year-old mare edged right on the run-in but was always in charge as she beat Spare Brakes (9/2) by two lengths. Doldido was a further seven lengths adrift in third at 7/2.

Gordon Elliott said: "I thought she might only be good enough to finish third to be honest on ratings but she is honest and she jumps and gallops.

"I think I might be able to win one more race with her."

Elliott took the opener on the card with 5/4 favourite Synopsis
