A 7,500 guineas purchase out of the Andy Oliver-yard at last year's Newmarket Autumn Sales, Careless Abandon had previously once sported blinkers, but in first-time cheek-pieces today, Gordon Elliott's mare comfortably scored by four and a half lengths in the Magners Cider Handicap at Downpatrick.
