Eiri Na Casca landed the Tipperary Town Plaza Handicap Chase last year and has prospects of going back-to-back in Tipperary this afternoon.
He has found life trickier off his elevated mark this year, but kept on well for second in Kilbeggan over this two-and-a-half-mile trip last month.
Denis Hogan 's charge faces plenty of threats, though, including Monbeg Chit Chat who relished better ground when scoring at Punchestown for Henry de Bromhead and Rachael Blackmore. Fenlon's Hill has been running well in the north and has had over a month off to recharge the batteries ahead of his challenge.
Blackmore and De Bromhead also team up with Classic Theatre who could put on a show in the Packie Downey Memorial Rated Novice Steeplechase.
This six-year-old mare put her rivals to the sword in impressive fashion when last seen in Limerick.
Darragh O’Keefe rode his first winner on William Du Berlais at Killarney on Tuesday and the pair have every chance in the Adare Manor Opportunity Handicap Steeplechase under a 6lb penalty. Just A Normal Day showed much more when fourth on fast ground at Clonmel in June and could build on that in division one of the Colour Run At Tipperary Racecourse August 10th Beginners Steeplechase.
Division two looks a good opportunity for Se Mo Laoch after his close third in Clonmel. Jaime Sommers made the favourite, Miss Sapphire, work for the win in Limerick and might go one better in the Walter Hennessy Auctioneer, Valuer and Estate Agent Mares Beginners Steeplechase. Invincible Don ought to give his supporters a good run for their money when he lines up for the Jim Ryan Racecourse Services Handicap Steeplechase.
The 10-year-old gelding was noted finishing nicely to be runner-up at Killarney on Thursday.
