After winning the first at Leopardstown with Plinth Indian File made it a quick opening race double for owner JP McManus, as he ran out a comfortable winner of the first at Limerick, the Roches Feeds Maiden Hurdle.

The Christy Roche trained son of Flemensfirth had three decent runs to his name, and he ran with credit on his hurdles debut at Listowel on his last start, finishing fourth to Asockastar

Sent off the 9/4 co-favourite of three, the five-year-old gelding made all under Alan Crowe, and he stretched clear after the second last, coming home an easy seventeen length victor.

The other two co-favourites, The Mighty Milan (Brian O’Connell for TJ Nagle) and Theos Well (Martin Ferris for Mick Winters), finished second and third respectively, with three and a quarter lengths separating those two.

Alan Crowe said afterwards: "It was always very heavy out there but he handled it well.

"I was able to get a breather into him when I wanted too. We think a bit of him and he will make a three mile chaser in time."
