Dysios recorded his sixth career win, and his second at a Leopardstown Christmas Festival, when taking the Download The Free Racing Post Mobile App Handicap Chase.

The Invincible Spirit gelding was successful over hurdles here two years ago, and this was a well-earned first success over fences.

The 6/1 chance was prominent throughout, and took over from the front-running Forty Foot Tom early in the straight.

The seven-year-old kept on gamely on the run-in under Robbie Power to beat I’m All You Need by a length and a half, with Forty Foot Tom another two and a half lengths adrift in third.

Winning trainer Denis Cullen said, “He won over hurdles here at Christmas two years ago, and has been unlucky in a few chases to run into some proper horses. It’s great for Kieron (Gammell, owner) as he’s from Greystones and it means a lot to win here.

“Today was the plan. We might run him in some Graded races as he would prefer that to the hustle and bustle of big fields in competitive handicaps. The race worked out very well today and he was able to get into a nice rhythm from an early stage.”
