Urban Dusk followed-up on her win over the course and distance last month as she claimed the Royal Charter Handicap Hurdle under Derek Fox for Mark McNiff.

Sent off the 2/1 favourite (from 9/4 on-course) the six-year-old daughter of Golan was settled behind the leaders and was third with a circuit to race.

She improved into a close second from three out and soon disputed, keeping on best under pressure on the run-in to score by two and a half lengths. Most Honourable (7/2), who attempted to make all, finished second under Rachael Blackmore for John 'Shark' Hanlon, while The Bach Road (12/1) kept on well to take third, a further neck back under Shane Butler for Seamus Fahey.

The winner is owned by the Sligo Racing Club and member Terry McGowan said afterwards: "Ullswater who was third behind her the last day came out and won since so the form had been franked.

"Mark is a masterful trainer and such a combination with his nephew Derek (Fox). What he (Mark) gets out of moderate horses is great.

"There are 22 in the Sligo Racing Club and about eight came over.

"She's a gutsy little mare and progressive. She might go novice chasing in England."
