Dundrum Lad wins under Madden

The lightly raced Dundrum Lad took the Follow @tipperaryraces On Twitter Beginners Chase.
The Mags Mullins trained six-year-old won a point-to-point on his debut at Bartlemy in May of 2015, before finishing second on his first racecourse start in a maiden hurdle at Naas.
He since disappointed at Fairyhouse, Leopardstown and Navan, and back over fences today he was sent off a 6/1 chance (was 12's this morning).
The son of Westerner was pushed along in third entering the straight, and made a bad mistake at the second last.
He went second before the final fence, and kept on well on the run-in, getting up to score by a length and three parts with Niall Madden in the saddle. .
The front-running Just Likeold Times (8's to 6's) had to settle for second under Robbie Power for Paul Nolan, while Show And Go (10/1) was six and a half lengths back in third under Andrew Lynch for Henry De Bromhead. Hurry Kitty was sent off the 5/1 favourite and she unseated at the seventh.
Mags Mullins said afterwards: "I'm delighted with him and that's his job with a bit of nice ground.
"He got a lovely ride and he (Madden) was delighted with him. He's tough and it was a nice first run over fences."
"Fingers crossed and we'll see where Frank (Berry, racing manager) and JP want to go next."
JP McManus was completing a double on the card having won the previous contest with King Leon
The winner is a half-brother to the ill-fated Backspin who won three of his four career starts.
