Mohart rewarded James Dullea's journey up from County Cork with a decisive victory in the beginners' chase at Downpatrick.

The 14/1 shot pecked badly at the last when in charge but soon kept on well up the hill to prevail by six and a half lengths. Sea Scorpion came in second at 25/1. He was two and a half lengths in front of Inishbel at 7/1.

James Dullea said: "We are not really a betting yard but we thought he would run very well.

"He's been a nice horse and a frustrating horse - He's had an awful lot of injuries and niggles.

"Where we go next, the handicapper will dictate that to us.

"He probably doesn't want real heavy winter ground yet he doesn't want top of the ground either, so today was perfect. The ground was fabulous here.

"I'd say it is our first winner in a long time and probably only our third or fourth winner in a long time.

We just had no horses over the summer. Hopefully this is a good start for what is to come over the winter, we have a lot of horses for the winter.

"It will make the journey home shorter! It was six hours up. To be honest I would be up here for every meeting only for the journey. They run a great card here for the lower-grade horses.

"I've been up plenty of times before but this is my first winner here. If it didn't work today it was going to be a long time before I came back!

"Phillip (Enright) was awesome on him, he knows him and he takes a bit of knowing. He probably looked beaten coming down the hill but Phillip said once he got a hold of him he said he had plenty of horse left.

"He could go to Tramore next."
