Dylan Robinson recorded his third success in the saddle as he partnered the James Barrett trained Speed Dream to an easy win in the Boylesports Bet On Your Mobile Apprentice Handicap.

The nine-year-old son of Pivotal, who was formerly trained by David Wachman and Mark Loughnane, won at Bellewstown last August and after two poor efforts since at Listowel and Navan, he ran much better on his seasonal reappearance at Dundalk last month, finishing third behind Above The Law.

Backed on-course from 10/1 into 7’s, he was in mid-division at the halfway stage before he made headway into third a furlong and a half from home.

He hit the front a furlong out and he stayed on strongly from there to score in good style by five and a half lengths. Charismas Birthday finished back in second at 25/1 under Joe Doyle for Philip Byrne while two time course and distance winner Patrickswell was a further half a length back in third at 18/1 under Ian Brennan for Marcus Callaghan. Tessie Jubilee completed the placings a neck back in fourth under Shane Gray for Joanna Morgan at 25/1, while the 11/4 favourite Elastomer could only manage a disappointing fifth under Luke Dempsey for Johnny Murtagh.

James Barrett said afterwards: "That is the first time he has got his ground for a long time.

"He is an older horse now but he still has plenty of ability and he ran today like he has been working at home.

"Dylan is a good little rider and he is great value for his claim.

"We will see what he gets for that and he could run again here next Friday but ideally I would like to freshen him up and then bring him back."
