Capture The Drama proved too strong for his rivals as he made all to land the Selskar Handicap Chase at Wexford.

Mark Walsh gave the 3/1 favourite a fine front-running ride and his mount had plenty in the tank when pressed by the field turning for home.

The eight-year-old kept on strongly in the closing stages to record an eight-length win over Gabrielleamee

Capture The Drama had won at Galway last month and was runner-up on his most recent outing at Fairyhouse. He was recording his fourth success of the year today.

"We are even surprising ourselves at this stage. We had lots of problems with him after his point-to-point win. He had his wind done in November of 2015, and then we had to redo it early this year. He surprised us the day in Gowran when he won at 100/1,” admitted King.

"I started to ride him myself in January. I hadn't ridden thoroughbreds in four years, I had no work rider so I started to ride him myself. I lost four stone as a result, and he has now won four races!

"He enjoys what he does. We will give him a small break now. He handled that heavy ground although we thought he might not. Mark said he had no problem on it.

"We only have two horses in training and we've six races won between them this year.

"He might come back at Limerick over Christmas. We might try him over hurdles, but he is rated 113 over hurdles so it's slightly tougher."
