Mags Mullins looks to have another smart bumper horse on her hands after Downtown Getaway took the Devenish And Meath GAA Race Day Flat Race in impressive fashion on debut at Fairyhouse.

Debuchet finished second to the ill-fated Fayonagh for Mullins in the Weatherbys Champion Bumper last March, and she can dream of going one better with this talented four-year-old.

Katie Walsh ’s mount led early in the straight, and the 14/1 shot took control from over a furlong out to beat Remastered by 12 lengths. Lone Wolf kept on another five and a half lengths away in third.

Ms Mullins said, “He’s a lovely horse and is from the Miss Muppet family. He’s unassuming at home and just does what he has to do. He jumps well and does everything lovely.

“He worked lovely up here last year and we were going to run him in the spring but the ground dried out a bit and we threw him out (for the summer). He could be a Cheltenham horse.”

Downtown Getaway has been introduced at 16/1 by both Paddy Power and Betfair Sportsbook for the Weatherbys Champion Bumper at Cheltenham.
