Aunt Bee gave in-form duo Jessica Harrington and Shane Foley another winner as they completed a double at the Curragh tonight in the Anglesey Lodge Equine Hospital Fillies Maiden.
It was different tactics this time as the daughter of Australia made the running and stuck on well when asked for an effort in the closing stages. Thunder Kiss ran on well, after meeting traffic problems, but could only get within half a length at the line.
7/1 winner Aunt Bee had been second behind easy winner Elfin Queen on her return at Naas 18 days ago.
“It's great they put that on as an extra race!” said Kate Harrington.
“She's a lovely filly and she had a lovely run at Naas. There's not much of her but she's got a big heart.
“He got into a lovely lead there as he had the prime draw there and he couldn't give it away.
“It's lovely for her owner/breeder David Reid Scott who isn't too well. He was in the Mater for a year and he's in rehab in Dun Laoghaire now.
“Like the other filly earlier she'll probably go for a winners of one and then try her in a Listed race as they are owner/breeders again.”
