Gordon Elliott’s Papal Lodge (11/2) won the concluding Irelands Hidden Heartlands INH Flat Race to give the trainer a 54/1 double after Longclaw rsquo;s win in the opener.

Third to stablemate Mr Jackman on his debut at Tipperary last month, it was a hard-fought success for the Papal Bull gelding as long-time leader Meet And Greet (80/1) rallied once headed and pushed the winner all the way to the line.

Half a length was the margin in the end, with 4/6 favourite Wearapinkribbon doing its best work late on having been off the bridle a long way out.

Winning rider Jamie Codd said: "He’s a nice horse. He’s improved from the first day in Tipperary and I think there’s a bit more improvement in him again.

“He’s going to be a real fun horse for Gordon. He was brave there at the end.”
