Donegal owner and rider Paul Sweeney and Dylan Browne McMonagle joined forces with County Kilkenny handler Dick Donohoe to land the Easyclean Handicap at Killarney with Harvey Specter
A winner twice previously, including off a much higher mark, Harvey Specter built on a nice Navan fifth placing last time.
That came off a 213 day break and here he came forward for the outing, settling behind the leaders before making ground into fourth two furlongs out.
Ridden to challenge a furlong and a half out Harvey Specter led in the final hundred and fifty yards, keeping on well to beat Drummer by two and a quarter lengths.
"He was due a win, was very consistent all last year but didn't get his head in front,” said Donohoe.
"He got a great ride there and the starter was a help too as he put me on the list to go in late; that helped as he was losing ground at the start last year and possibly cost him a win.
"He came on from his run the last day and while I was a little bit worried about the ground, he did run well in Dundalk during the winter.
"He is a well exposed horse and we'll bide our time before running him back at another country meeting."
The Stewards fined Andrew McNamara, trainer, €65 for failing to fit cheek pieces to Amlad prior to entering the parade ring.
C.D. Hayes, rider of Reddiac trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung right throughout.
