Ridden by Barry Geraghty he was sent off at 4/1 today and jumped into the lead at the second last.
He then asserted from before the last and kept on well to score by two and three parts of a length at the line.
Pique Sous had to settle for second under Emmet Mullins for his uncle Willie after racing keenly throughout and not jumping with much fluency. Ginger Genie was best of the rest a further length four and a quarter lengths back in third at 33/1 for Maureen Danagher and Brian Cawley.
Winning trainer Eddie Hales said afterwards: "Finally! He likes this place and the key to him is to ride him patiently. The ground can't be too bad.
"Of course my kids backed Willie Mullins as usual and had a straight forecast with Pique Sous to win and Ted Dolly to be second!"
