Detail makes six hour journey worthwhile
Further Detail made the long journey down from Co Tyrone a worthwhile one for his connections when winning the first of four flat races on this evening's card, the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Maiden.
The grey son of Verglas was having his fourth start after putting in decent efforts at Naas, Cork and most recently Roscommon, finishing eighth there, six lengths behind Secretsubstitute.
The winner was held up in the early part of the race, coming from off the pace to lead over a furlong out before staying on well to beat 25/1 shot Kate Greenaway for Thomas James by half a length at the finish.
Stablemate to the winner, Jouster ran an eyecatching race on his debut to finish a further half a length back in third at 66/1.
Winning trainer Andy Oliver said afterwards: "It took us six hours to get down here, but the new roads do help. I'm very pleased with him. He was a wee bit unlucky at Roscommon, as he didn't get the run of the race and the track probably didn't suit him.
"We’ll see what the handicapper does now and take it from there."
