Shinko Princess the well-backed 5/4 favourite, won her first race, at attempt number fourteen, in the opening Floodlit Friday Nights At Dundalk Maiden.
Declan McDonogh rode the Strategic Prince mare for owner/trainer Christy Donoghue, and down the outer of the track she saw off Pat Smullen's mount Peace Officer by a length.
"It's been a while coming but maybe the cheek-pieces did the trick tonight," said Donoghue.
"She probably should have won long ago and we were disappointed a few times but she's been running on soft ground.
"She might have a break now until the spring unless we can find another race here for her in about three weeks time. She'll win on soft but she likes a bit of nice ground.
"We'll try and maybe get some black-type at some stage."
The Stewards informed Adrian Brendan Joyce, trainer that Neat 'N Nifty would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again.
