"He's been frustrating and we are a long time waiting on that," acknowledged Gordon Elliott after his Delegate (2/1 into 5/4 favourite) got off the mark on start number eleven in the Kinnegad Maiden Hurdle at Kilbeggan. Taras Call the second market choice, was right there when falling two out, and Bryan Copper took over in the Gigginstown House Stud colours aboard Delegate approaching the last.
Delegate was eased close home to beat Silver Turtle by two and a quarter lengths.
"He had a wind-op and that might have improved him a bit. He'll go chasing soon," further revealed Elliott.
D.N. Russell, rider of Killarney Lakes trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount jumped very poorly.
