We had a steward's enquiry after the Clonmel Racecourse Supporters Club Guest Evening Rated Novice Hurdle and after lengthy deliberations Visioman was confirmed victorious for Henry de Bromhead and Dylan Robinson.
He drifted left on the run-in, impeding 33/1 chance Leap Dearg and a neck split them at the line.
After a 13-day hiatus Percy (a 13/2 chance) got the Gordon Elliott show back on the road, finishing at the back of the seven finishers, beaten eight and a half lengths.
"He did edge a little bit left but I think he was always holding the second. He likes that ground and is a really nice horse," stated de Bromhead.
"He had a nice run in Kilbeggan and I'm delighted to get that first winner for us for the Halsalls. They have a couple of nice horses with us, both of whom are running tonight, and are from near Aintree racecourse. Alan's father Ben is a director in Aintree and I'm delighted."
The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Leap Dearg, ridden by Gavin Peter Brouder, placed second and Visioman (FR), ridden by D. Robinson, placed first, where it appeared Leap Derg was carried wide on the run to the line.
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judges placings.
They were, however, of the opinion that D. Robinson was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his record, suspended him for 1 raceday.
Mr. Patrick Coveney, Acting Steward, absented himself from this enquiry.
R.M. Power, rider of Love And Wishes trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung badly and was pulled up thereafter.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Love And Wishes, trained by Mrs John Harrington, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
