Second favourite Grange Walk (11/4) beat third market choice Dare To Flare (100/30) under an excellent ride from Danny Mullins in the Doneraile Walk Maiden Hurdle (Div II) at Tramore.
Mullins went the inner from before two out on the John Ryan-trained winner, and ended up accounting for Dare To Flare and favourite Master Artist by a length and a half and a neck.
"He probably should have won in Kilbeggan the first day. He should have won twice already but didn't. The little mare Bonarc lost a race and it was terrible to lose it for something totally outside of my control. You can see how difficult it is for her to get her win back,” reflected Ryan.
"Danny gave him a peach of a ride today, I thought he was absolutely brilliant. We were short a little bit of fitness so we held him up a bit.
"He'll go to Listowel now for a novice or a handicap. He probably wasn't ready for the novice in Galway and the hill probably caught him a bit. He is a good horse and can go wherever he likes."
At the request of the Stewards, Mr P. Power, rider of Game Catch trained by Paul Power, reported to the Stewards'Secretaries that his mount found today's going too quick and was outpaced on the final circuit.
