Mark Enright marked his first day in action as a father by partnering a winner when Black Zero was rewarded for his consistency in the Buy Twilight Racing Tickets Online Handicap Chase at Limerick.

The Michael McDonagh-trained gelding recorded his sixth career victory by leading two out, and was kept up to his work on the run-in by Enright.

The nine-year-old gelding had two and a half lengths to spare over Prickly with top-weight Three Wise Men another length and a quarter back in third.

Enright said, “I thought we were in a bit of trouble turning in but the gap opened up and he quickened away. He never runs a bad race, and credit to Michael who keeps him in such good form.

“That’s my first winner as a Daddy as my daughter Sophie was born this day last week.”
