Joanna Morgan and Joseph O'Brien have a fine record when they combine and the pair were on the mark again when Xsquared landed the Crowne Plaza Hotel Of Dundalk Handicap.

Carrying blinkers again, like he has done in recent times, the victorious Exceed And Excel gelding didn't go unbacked at 9/2 and he eclipsed Cash Or Casualty by four and a quarter lengths.

Xsquared is owned by the Adders Syndicate and Morgan explained : "They are all mathematicians. They are mostly from Dublin but some are from Kildare. Three of them are here today.

"He is a very giddy sort of horse. He is in at Gowran and Bellewstown during the week but he needs better ground and it may be that he'll be hurdling next.

"That's his trip and he would have won a lot more if we'd have had good ground this year. He's a fine big horse and he also won by a wide margin at Fairyhouse when he got twelve pounds." (MG & EM)
