Smart bumper horse and useful novice hurdler Letsbeclearaboutit justified odds of 4/6 to make a winning start over fences in the Join Gowran Park Racing Club Beginners Chase.

In front from early, the eight-year-old was pursued down the straight by Largy Debut who was left second when Franciscan Rock exited three out. The favourite got the last wrong but had the race in safe keeping at that point and came home five lengths to the good over Largy Debut.

After Mint Boy s success in the 2m4f maiden hurdle, the winner was completing doubles for Gavain Cromwell, owners Alymer Stud and rider Keith Donoghue who remarked:  “It was a good start, a good performance. He had a little bit of a look at them early on but he's a good jumper and I couldn't have asked for him to do it much easier.

“He was just ready to start. You can't fault it too much, going around there first time on his own in front. It was a good performance.”
