They may have suffered a reversal in the first when even money shot Sexy Legs could only finish third but 8/1 hope Crescent brightened David Wachman and Wayne Lordan's evening when claiming the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund (C & G) Maiden at Naas.
The outlook for favourite backers wasn't as bright, as following on from the aforementioned Sexy Legs, other short ones to get beaten were Bilderberg in the second and St Patrick's Day here.
That Ballydoyle representative, in the same ownership as Crescent, done alright on his debut but the 4/5 favourite was a length down on the winner at the line.
Lordan said: "He's a nice big horse and he stays well.
"He got a little bit lost around Gowran last time and the galloping track suited him today.
"He's a fine big horse and there's plenty of improvement in him." (GC & EM)
