Copper Nation made all the running to easily dispose of her rivals in the O 'Flynn Motors Mallow Mares Maiden Hurdle at Cork.

Darragh Allen had the mare in front as soon as the tapes went up and from there he dictated the race from the front.

Allen slowed the pace turning out of the back straight allowing his rivals to bunch up but once he turned for home and let out an inch of rein, he found that he had a willing partner.

An easy lead certainly suits this strong travelling mare and granted favourable conditions she can win again.

The locally trained mare Emily Roebling stayed on strongly to take the second place, while Vibrance finished back in third.

Seamus Coffey, representing his father said; "it was a very impressive win and he gave her a great ride. There's a mares' Listed hurdle in Killarney for her next.

"She is there or thereabouts every day and is a good mare who is from a great family. She has won a point to point, bumper and maiden hurdle now."
