Contingency (15/8 fav) made it two out of two over fences when taking the Allman Contracts Mares’ Novice Chase for Willie Mullins and Paul Townend.

After being a bit sketchy over her fences at Tramore when winning her beginners’ chase, she jumped better here and, after market rival Humm Baby departed on the final circuit, the daughter of Champs Elysees (second winner on the card) defeated Grey Waters (7/1) and Dolly Dancer (11/2) by three lengths and a length and a quarter.

“The bigger fences and the experience of a run helped her, said the winning rider Paul Townend.

"She jumped well on the whole, and on hurdles ratings was entitled to do that.

“She had a good level over hurdles and she seems to be getting her act together over fences.”
