With a nationwide weather warning issued by Met Eireann, the going is sure to be very testing at Clonmel this afternoon for their showpiece meeting of the year.

The ground is currently described as heavy and, while the Co. Tipperary venue is raceable at present, conditions will continue to be monitored.

The Clonmel Oil Chase has attracted a stellar line-up with Sizing Europe and Champagne Fever among the seven declared for the 2m4f Grade 2 event.

The seven-race card, which also includes the Grade 3 EBF T A Morris Memorial (Mares) Chase, gets underway at 12.55pm.

There is a status orange warning in place for counties on the eastern coast with rainfall of between 40 and 60mm expected causing localised flooding.

The remainder of the country falls under a code yellow warning which may result in rainfall of between 25 to 40mm.
