The Jack Davison trained Come On The Lads opened his account under rules when running out an easy winner of the Tipperary Races Claiming Race at the Junction.

Having just his seventh career start, the four-year-old clearly appreciated this drop into claiming company, travelling well throughout under jockey Colin Keane.

Prominent in third early on, as Spanish Tenor made the running from Roderick the Elzaam gelding moved closer to challenge the leader over two furlongs out.

Quickening to the lead between the two and the one poles, the eventual winner stayed on under hands and heels to run out a comfortable two-and-a-half length victor over the staying on El Bello

Jack Davison said: "He has disappointed since his first run so we dropped him into claiming company today and it all came good. These claimers are great for that reason and we've had our day now, albeit in moderate company.

"Somebody will now have fun with him going forward and I'd imagine he'll jump a hurdle as well."

Winner Come On The Lads (for E10,000) was claimed by Ger O'Leary, while Leanne Breen takes home runner-up El Bello (for E15,000).
