Collision Course came out best after a final-furlong battle with Storm Ranger in Gowran Park to give trainer Andrew Oliver and jockey Billy Lee a double on the card.

The four-year-old grey duelled on the inner of Storm Ranger and kept on well for Lee to win by a head from the 7/2 favourite.

Il PiccoloGrande was five lengths back in third at 9/2.

There was plenty of money around for Collision Course who was available at 10/1 in morning trading before being backed from 6/1 to 9/2 at the track.

Andrew Oliver said: "He is not winning before time. He likes a bit of an ease in the ground. Billy gave him a great ride and we'll see what the handicapper does now. He might go for something at Galway."

Lee won the opener on the card on Outside Inside while Oliver saddled Big Ego in race four.
