Cobblers Dream showed improvement to get off the mark in the two mile three furlong point-to-point bumper at Cork.

The Yeats gelding had been pulled up in a point-to-point in his sole point-to-point in November and a tongue-strap was added today.

He travelled smoothly into the lead at the three pole but soon had Midnight It is for company on the outer.

The latter tried to get on terms a furlong and a half down but Cobblers Dream was having none of it.

The 12/1 chance moved further clear inside the final furlong and swept home by four lengths at 12/1 with James Hannon in the plate. The runner-up went off at 4/1 and was four and a half lengths in front of 13/8 favourite Casey West

Handler Sean Aherne said: "That was a lovely effort. We haven't him too long but had him in a schooling bumper at Boulta and was fairly impressive in it and that was fairly impressive there.

"He's not an overly big horse and he skipped off the ground and everything went a dream.

"The main objective is to sell him now and he is a lovely horse to jump. He does things lovely and has a great attitude."
