Forty Coats completed a first and last race double for Henry de Bromhead, as he ran out a comfortable winner of the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Auction (Pro/Am) INH Flat Race.

Successful on his sole point-to-point start at Ballinaboola in February when in the care of Andrew Latta, the Diamond Boy five-year-old had two subsequent winners in behind.

Starting off for Chris Jones this afternoon and ridden by his son Andrew, the bay victor raced mainly in fourth, taking closer order on the approach to the straight.

Returned the 11/10 favourite (9/4 early), he was switched to the inner to challenge from the two-furlong pole and was soon sent to the front, keeping on well in the closing stages to score by four-lengths.

The Tom Mullins-trained Coral River (13/2) filled the runner-up spot, while the front-running Willie Shake Hands (25/1) was another four-and-three-quarters of a length back in third.

“That was great, he's a lovely horse. Robbie Power recommended him to us,” de Bromhead, who took the first with Gorgeous Tom commented.

"I'm delighted for the Jones's. I've known Andrew for years and I'm delighted for him, that's his second winner for us. He gave him a super ride, it worked out really well.

"We'll enjoy today and then see with him. He won his point-to-point and has been in a while."
