Ross Coakley completed a quick double at Fairyhouse as the John Oxx-trained She’s My Dream made most of the running to land the Play The Tote Jackpot For 10 Cent Handicap.
The daughter of Zebadee was getting off the mark at the ninth attempt, and Coakley was following up the victory of Independent Missy (5/2) in the previous maiden.
The 16/1 chance asserted in the straight and was three lengths clear over a furlong out before holding on well in the closing stages. Miacomet one of three 5/1 co favourites, was three quarters of a length back in second with fellow co favourite Kodiqueen who was re-shod at the start resulting in the race being delayed by ten minutes, a neck further back in third. Bionic Tonic completed the places in fourth.
Oxx said, “She’s been trying hard for a good while and hasn’t got her head in front. Perhaps she liked the little comfort in the ground as she’s been at Dundalk several times.
“She got out in front there and seemed to enjoy it. She quickened up and ran to the line well so we’re delighted with her.
“It’s great to win a race for Mr (Tom) Monaghan. It’s the first foal out of the mare and he’s got a nice Kodiac colt foal going to the sales later this year.
“We tried a mile as an experiment the last day but it didn’t work.”
