Annie Irish recorded her second win of the season as she took the second division of Live Music After Racing Handicap.
The Liz Doyle trained four-year-old was fourth on her last start at Gowran and she was sent off a 6/1 chance (9/1 in a place this morning) today under Ross Coakley.
Settled behind the leaders on the rail she was ridden under two furlongs out and hit the front with over a furlong to race.
She kept on well from there, going on to score by half a length. Tamisa (20/1) kept on well to take second under Chris Hayes for John Joe Walsh while Miss Youngs (16/1) was a further length and three parts back in third under Declan McDonogh for Shay Barry. Ying Yang was sent off the 7/2 favourite and she finished fifth under Fran Berry for Johnny Feane.
Liz Doyle said afterwards: "She burst a blood vessel in Tipperary but had a nice run here over seven when she didn't get out and met a bit of traffic problems.
"He gave her a lovely ride. He dropped his whip and I was wondering why he wasn't hitting her but she won nicely.
"She was only broken as a three-year-old so is a year-and-a-half behind everything. She's a right little filly for the future.
"I don't think the rain got into the ground too much as she couldn't have won if it had."
