The Robert Cowell trained British raider Clarendon House proved far too strong for the home team in the featured Listed Irish Stallion Farms EBF Midsummer Sprint Stakes at Cork.

With a rating of 111, the six-year-old boasted the top figure in the line up, although he had to conceded weight to all but two rivals.

Quickly into stride under the double winning Colin Keane, the Cowell raider travelled strongly throughout the contest, extending from over a furlong out to readily dispose of Erosandpsyche Jakajaro kept on nicely under Robbie Colgan to pick up some valuable blacktype for David Marnane and owners MRC International.

Colin Keane said: "On his York run, he looked very good and today's race went smoothly. He travelled very strong, they probably weren't quick enough to bring him along to be honest and when I asked him, he quickened up well under hands and heels.

"He is a level about those horses.

"I've had a few rides for Robert and have had a few near misses so it was nice to get a winner for him. It's nice to get winners for these English trainers when they come over and Ruaidhri (Tierney, agent) was obviously on the ball."
