Claimer next for Black Belt
On her eighth start Black Belt finally lost her maiden tag, as she won the Craic on the Track 14th August Maiden, for her trainer Tracey Collins with Seamie Heffernan in the saddle.
The 3yo daughter of Big Bad Bob had the form to win this evening after finishing a close second over the course and distance to Dawariya, who since won again.
She ran well again on last start at Gowran when fourth to Magical Cat, three and a quarter lengths behind.
Sent off the 5/2 joint favourite today, the winner was never too far off the pace. She moved into the lead well over two furlongs out before staying on well to score by two and a half lengths.
The gambled on Prince of Dubai (8/1 this morning into 7/2 at the off) for John Murphy & Sam James, ran a nice race to take second, while Hisaabaat (13/2) for Dermot Weld & Pat Smullen, who would have been closer only for hanging off the home turn, was a head back in third.
The other 5/2 joint favourite, Charpoy was further two lengths back in fourth for Ken Condon.
Winning trainer Tracey Collins said afterwards: "She is in a claimer at Wexford on Friday and that's where she will go.
"Seamie gave her a lovely ride and she was entitled to win a race as she has been very consistent.
"She's there to be claimed on Friday."
