Ineffable is already repaying his new connections for their February investment as the Rodger Sweeney trained gelding landed the opening Win Big With Tote Pick 6 Maiden Hurdle at Tramore today, under jockey Davy Russell.

The son of Fastnet Rock was claimed for E11,000 from trainer Joseph O’Brien having finished second in a Claimer at Dundalk in February, and today was winning on his third start for Sweeney, when responding gamely for pressure on the run-in to beat Papal Motel by a length and a half.

Afterwards Sweeney, whose dual Cheltenham Foxhunters hero Salsify finished tenth in this year’s renewal, stated “I thought he'd run well today. I have him a couple of months and he was bought out of a seller by Ray Devereaux (R M D Cleaning Services Limited), who had to name his trainer before he bid for him, so then sent him to me. I had Raydari for him before and Long Journey Home who is back in training now.

"He (Ineffable) will win no Derby, but he is a fun horse now for the summer. He’d like nice ground and the ground turned right for him today. He ran last Wednesday in Leopardstown and that kinda put him right for today. Hopefully he'll win a handy flat race over the summer too."
